ABOUT ME

I am a senior Radio and Television major at Rider University with a minor in Film and Media Studies. Ever since I arrived at Rider, there have been so many opportunities for me to gain experience in the field. I became a part of Rider University Network, the student run television network at school last fall by working on the production crew for our news-magazine program, The RUNdown. I have been able to acquire skills for working in the control room of a television studio such as operating the switchboard, mixing the sound for our microphones, and setting up the cameras before a show.

I recently started producing the Pop News segment of our music-driven program at Rider University Network, Backstage Story this fall. I work with a team of one other production member and the rotating anchor for the segment that week. Through this experience, I have reinforced the skills I already gained in working with The RUNdown as well as acquired new ones. I also assist in editing the segment with my team and teleprompter/camera operations while filming. Most recently, I took over copywriting duties for the segment. Every couple of weeks, I will research and put together a script for two anchors to use when they film. I have been able to strenghthen my research skills through this experience.

This past summer, I was given the opportunity to intern with TheCelebrityCafe.com, the longest-running online publication. I worked as a research intern for 12 weeks before being asked to stay on as a contributing writer. Along with my research for Cafepedia, I was asked to write 'special feature' pieces for key anniversaries that occured during the summer. I also provided coverage for television programming on TV Land, NBC, MTV, and FX Networks. This experience helped me become familiar with other social media platforms like Reddit and StumbleUpon. I also gained a better knowledge of researching trends in social media to find stories for reporters to cover.
